Subsea Riser Engineer
The Subsea Riser Engineer will work with an interdisciplinary team to design and configure risers and umbilicals for subsea marine applications.
Responsibilities:
• Perform or check relevant riser analyses specific to Flexible Risers, Top Tensioned Risers and SCR's o Types of riser analyses include clearance analysis, dynamic analysis, fatigue analysis and ECA analysis o Fatigue calculations include wave induced fatigue, VIV induced fatigue and VIM induced fatigue o The riser configuration designs include vertical risers, catenary risers and other curved riser geometries. Riser pipes can be single metallic pipe, pipe in pipe or flexible pipes.
• Prepare or check riser design calculation spreadsheets and develop pre/post processor programs
• Provide bid engineering support related to riser design and prepare CTRs
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and monitor that ISO 9001 procedures are followed
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Minimum BS/MS degree in engineering (Structural/Mechanical/Engineering Mechanics)
• 5-10 years experience in Riser and umbilical design and analysis; familiarity with field development scenarios
• Must be familiar with riser design codes (API, DNV, ASME, BS)
• Experience in Flexcom, Abaqus, Shear7, Fracture Graphics, VB, or equivalent software tools
• Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to interface with supervisors, colleagues, consultants, vendors, drafting designer and other engineers in multi-discipline projects
• Able to work independently with general supervision
• Must have good writing and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Have excellent work ethic and maintain a good work attitude
