Job Title: Petrophysicist
Job Location: WUSA Headquarters in Houston, Texas

The successful candidate will be engaged in all aspects of our Petrophysical evaluations and planning. The successful candidate will be involved in both our Exploration efforts as well as our Development and Producing Assets. The incumbent will work closely with the Operations Geologist and Well Teams to plan desired logging suites, monitor drilling wells as needed and provide detailed petrophysical analysis in a timely manner on Woodside's interest wells.
Responsibilities
The Petrophysicist will be an active, integrated member of our Exploration Teams as well as our Development Teams. Within the exploration arena, the candidate will work closely with our geoscience staff to provide single well and regional petrophysical analysis on exploratory projects. This will involve evaluation work on regional and offset data during prospect maturity as well as real time evaluation during drilling and evaluation operations. The incumbent will also be instrumental in integrated evaluations in the appraisal and development cycle and will be a key player in detailed field studies providing critical characterization work for our integrated evaluations and workflows.
The Petrophysicist will work with the Regional Team to assemble and manage an easily accessible Geolog database of log data and QC'd, normalized composite logs to be used by the petrophysics staff and by the greater Woodside exploration community. In addition, the Petrophysicist will be expected to provide Rock Properties evaluations on selected wells as part of normal post-drill well evaluation and as special longer term projects.
Requirements
Qualifications Required
* BS in Engineering or Geoscience
* Minimum 5+ years experience in petrophysical evaluation in deep water Gulf of Mexico
* Demonstrated proficiency with Geolog/Paradigm Formation Evaluation software and compilation of results
* Must possess a detailed understanding of modern WL and LWD sensor response including NMR, Elemental sondes, 3D Resistivity tools, and modern Image tools
* Experience with Pliocene / Miocene / and Early Tertiary evaluation techniques in GOM
* Proven ability to integrate electrical and mechanical rock properties from core; detailed understanding of SCAL and experience in planning, leading and managing core analysis work.
* Demonstrated ability to QC curves and log responses to produce a reliable and interpretable log
* Proven track record in integrated studies and exposure to Integrated static model builds
* Experience with Pore Pressure prediction software and techniques a plus
* Must possess and maintain a knowledge of the current and up to date exploration thinking, concepts and trends as it relates to petrophysical evaluation
* Good communication and presentation skills
* Team player and self-starter
* Fluent written and spoken English
Qualifications Preferred
* Degree in Engineering or Geoscience
* 10+ years experience in petrophysical evaluation
