We are currently representing one of Australias leading design and construction JVs. They have also been in the contract mining business in the coal industry since the 1940s and offer clients a wide range of experience.

This Joint venture has rapidly achieved a reputation as the leading contractor for the design, construction and upgrade of coal handling and preparation plants for the Australian coal industry. With a recent succesful history of completing jobs on time and under budget and with a high focus on safety they are in the enviable position of having jobs lined up for several years.

The current project worth in excess of $300 million involves the constuction of a raw coal handling system with a stockpile and reclaimer via a raw coal bridge scraper reclaimer. A 700t/h Coal Preparation plant featuring two stages dense medium cyclone Processing and finally a Product coal handling system with two 1800t/h stackers and a train loadout. Our client has also just been awarded the contract for a 21km Overland Conveyor. This Cable Belt Conveyor will be the longest single belt conveyor in the world.

We are currently seeking an Area Manager for this project. Reporting to the Construction Manager the successful applicant will demonstrate successful experience in managing large scale heavy industrial construction projects of over $10 Million on time and budget. As a company one of their main priorities is maintaining safe operations and to report zero incidence of lost time and medical treatment injuries, therefore the successful candiate must have safety as a high priority and have an excellent track record.

Candidates with either coal or material handling experience would be highly regarded. The successfull applicant will be suitably qualified with experience on similar large scale construction projects particularly involved in structures.

This Fly-In Fly-out role to East Coast destinations is based on an 10 and 4 rota. This project is expected to run until December 2007. On completion of the project the successful candidates would be seconded onto another similar project within the Bowen Basin making this a great long-term opportunity for the right candidates.
