The Position
The Senior Project Engineer will be an expert in the field of pipeline and compression construction. He/She will provide technical expertise in the area of natural gas pipelines (gathering, transmission, and natural gas liquids (NGL)), processing and compression. They must apply advanced and cost-effective solutions to pipeline construction and projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Recommend and implement improved processes and technologies to ensure the construction of capital pipeline and compression projects in a safe manner, on-time and on-budget.
• Assist in the design and justification of pipeline and compression expansion projects including providing expertise on economic analysis and construction techniques.
• Provide expertise in developing and managing pipeline and compression installation schedule to ensure turned in line as outlined in the capital plan.
• Develop construction staff on “best practices” regarding pipeline and compression construction activities.
• Provide expertise in developing scopes of work and aid in developing AFE’s.
• Provide expertise on regulatory requirements as they relate to pipeline construction, including state and federal regulations for permitting, environmental and safety and construction.
REQUIREMENTS
• B.S. Degree in any of the engineering disciplines. Minimum 10 years of construction/project engineering or project management in natural gas pipeline and compression industry. Must have knowledge of codes and standards for liquid and/or gas pipelines including CFR 49, Part 192 & 195, ASME 31.3 & 31.8, NEC.
• Requires the ability to understand the financial and competitive issues that affect design and construction projects and a thorough understanding of pipeline, compression and measurement operating processes.
• Experience in the Appalachian basin or other mountainous area is a plus.
• MBA and/or experience with gas processing plants and fractionation plants are a plus.
• Expect 40% to 50% Travel.
