The Construction Project Manager will manage and oversee all contractors, project schedules and budgets and be the key liaison with Project Staff that will ensure
construction projects are executed on budget and schedule. They will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Monitoring and recording contractor’s work performance with the contract requirements and conducts final inspections, prepare punch lists, and collect documentation for closing out of contracts.
Monitoring adherence to manpower estimates and schedules
Maintaining an accurate construction schedule and reporting projects status to senior management.
Identifying unforeseen conditions or errors in the plans or specifications and communicating such to the attention of vendors or contractors.
Coordinating materials testing, surveying services and other sub-professional services that may be required.
Reviewing and recommending progress payments to the contractor
Ensuring redline drawings are generated from the installation process and ensuring these changes are submitted to the Project Staff in timely fashion.
Executing and tracking installation documents and maintaining reports to the project manager pertaining to quality checklists, redline drawings, schedule tracking, and resource issues.
Utilizing project management tools to track and report project cost estimation, cost updates, schedule progress, change control, and contingency draw-down as appropriate
Providing a safe workplace for contractors and company personnel including:
Authorizing hot work, confined space entry, and trench entry; Performing pre-start up safety reviews; and Performing regular safety compliance and MSHA compliance audits with contractors.
Qualifications/Experience etc:
Ability to communicate with a wide range of professions and work groups.
Ability to maintain a pleasant work environment while demanding high levels of compliance and quality
Ability to prepare and deliver information in a concise, accurate and professionally written format.
Experience installing and starting up electrical equipment.
Be comfortable with outside field work (approx. 80% of the time)
Project management experience of plant construction is preferred, mining experience is a plus.
Experience in trenching or an OSHA Trenching competent person
Ability to update engineering drawings.
