CH2M HILL Project Superintendent Jobs– Billings, Montana

Our Project Superintendent job will provide you with the opportunity to supervise the physical work forces in construction projects for an Operations & Maintenance contract at an oil refinery of a major oil and gas company. Each day you will be an important team member as you assist the Project Manager in job planning and work scheduling, as well as coordinate the activities of Crafts Supervisors and Foremen to ensure effective operations and productivity. This role acts as Construction Manager for multiple small projects. You should be a self-motivated, detailed-oriented professional with ten (10) years construction management and craft supervision experience in an oil and gas operations, maintenance and facilities environment, and previous field operations and construction experience.

Our Project Superintendents:

• Execute all orders and directives issued by the Project Manager and outlines work program, designating critical areas and priorities.
• Prepare the major construction equipment list for the project and controls the assignment of equipment required by each craft to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Review and approve field manpower requisitions for the employment of craft labor.
• Provide detailed scheduling of daily construction activities and coordination between CH2MHILL and subcontractors to avoid conflicts.
• Ensure that the company's and clients health, safety and environmental requirements are clearly communicated and adhered to on all construction activities and ensure total participation in these programs throughout the ranks.
• Perform pre-project and project planning and communications of these plans ensuring that the assigned field construction foreman and the respective construction crews are informed, while driving the project and crews in the direction of those plans to timely and cost effective completion.
• Manage various relationships with the client and external personnel.
• Manage and supervise field construction foreman with coordinating resources, assignments, daily reporting and assisting with project goals.
• Work with engineers to develop cost estimates, drawings, permits, policies, plans, regulations and procedures.
• Coordinate construction activities with other departments.
• Provide input into allocation of budgeted funds on assigned projects.
• Work with internal departments, external contractors and suppliers to coordinate work and resolve problems.
• Demonstrate leadership and strong work ethic and participate as a key member in the project team.
• Attend training sessions, seminars, and appropriate educational classes as required by department.
• May have full responsibility on smaller projects and assumes the duties of a Construction Manager.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Ten (10) years construction management and craft supervision experience in an oil and gas operations, maintenance and facilities environment
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control, schedules and safety required
• Possess current knowledge of Engineering and organizational practices
• Have excellent written and oral communications applicable to standards set by organization
• Strong background with structural and piping fabrication/installation.
• Strong organizational skills
• Functional experience with Primavera and Microsoft office applications, emphasis on Excel capabilities
