Technician - Nondestructive/Ultasonic/Testing

A heavy equipment manufacturer in Central Illinois has an IMMEDIATE NEED (Oct. start date) for a Quality Technician to work a ONE YEAR CONTRACT on second shift (3:30 pm - 12 midnight). The primary emphasis will be on nondestructive ultrasonic testing on welds, with magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing, hardness testing, plating bath testing, and metallurgical sample preparation a plus. Write reports on testing results, rework required, & trend analysis, Must be capable of being ASNT level I or II certified in Ultrasonic Testing (120 training hours with experience consisting of 800 hours in UT and 1600 hours NDT). Must work with Manufacturing to resolve quality problems in both materials and processes. Must contribute to continuous process improvement to reduce rework, and increase throughput. Requires Equipment/Software IBM/PC Compatible, Windows, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, LOCAL Candidates only. No relocation and no per diem.
Questions you will be asked:

• Describe your experience performing nondestructive ultrasonic testing on welds.

• Describe your experience doing magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing, hardness testing, plating bath testing, and metallurgical sample preparation.

• Describe your experience writing reports on testing results, rework required, & trend analysis.

• Do you qualify to be ASNT Level I or Ultrasonic Level II certified?

• Are you within daily commutable distance of Peoria, IL? Are you willing to commit to a one year contract assignment?
