Urgent Need! Washington State Plant seeks a qualified Lathe Operator. The Lathe Operator will be responsible for maintaining and operating the lathe; ensures equipment is in good working condition and operating at full capacity; applies all applicable safety precautions and performs duties in an efficient and profitable manner that promotes safety and superior employee relations. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED; Minimum ( 2 ) two years experience operating a lathe in veneer operations or plywood plant; Knowledge of set-up, electrical and mechanical aspects of lathe; Capable of operating in a fast-pace production process with excellent hand and eye coordination and good safety record history. RESPONSIBILITIES: Sets up, maintains, programs and operates lathes in proper condition for veneer being run;
Reads and interprets specifications or follows verbal instructions; Cleans and lubricates equipment, and replace parts; Keeps inventory of spare parts; Follows applicable lock-out and tag-out procedures; Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. This is a physically intensive job, in a plant environment, that requires ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
