Leading Aerospace Engineering Company is actively searching for 3 Mechanical Technicians to work a NASA project out of the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. The Mechanical Technicians will be responsible for performing assembly of space flight hardware within the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) system. Requires the ability to identify weaknesses in the fabrication and assembly process with the creative ability to recommend solutions. Provide manufacturing experience and input to engineering on the assembly of large structural / mechanical assemblies (15-20). This position is responsible for fabrication knowledge and is responsible for applying the necessary skills from the technical area to ensure safe, efficient assembly and usage of all equipment. Candidates need a High School Education or equivalent and 5+ years experience as a technician. Must be a motivated individual with excellent communication skills and be a strong team builder. Must have experience with match drilling techniques, helicoil installation, using a torque wrench and riveting. Familiar with alignment techniques on large assemblies. Also, familiar with accurately reporting project status. Experience with projects that work under close oversight and coordination with Quality Assurance personnel highly desirable. This is a 3 month + contract position. Interviews will be scheduled soon, so all qualified candidates need to apply now.
