Mapping Drafter - Mapping/CAD/ArcGIS

An energy-related engineering firm is in search of a GIS Mapping Specialist to work in their office located in Houston, TX. Candidates in this temp to perm position will be responsible for creating and maintaining data and maps compatible with geographically referenced data from multiple sources (ex: surveys, plot plans, and satellite imagery). Other major responsibilities include: drafting and updating CAD plots and diagrams; operating and maintaining GIS system hardware, software, and plotter; and developing custom applications in Visual Basic, MS Access or other data management software. Candidates must be familiar with cartographic concepts (ex: map scales and topography) and GIS related technology (ex: survey equipment and GPS devices). In order to be considered applicants must have an Associates Degree in GIS, CAD, or related field with at least 5 years hands-on experience with ArcGIS and CAD software. Experience in a small engineering office or pipeline industry is a plus! Salary commensurate with experience.
