Civil Designer - Civil/Structural/Microstation 35-45 $/hr

Client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Civil/Structural Designer for a year long contract assignment near Newark, NJ. You need 5+ years of experience designing & drafting foundations and structural steel components on large heavy industrial plant construction projects. You need to be proficient with using Microstation (version 8 preferred). You need some knowledge of ACI and AISC codes. You will be expected to review engineering and steel fabrication drawings as required. You will perform some engineering calculating for steel and concrete designs. Our client is only looking for candidates local to northern New Jersey.
Questions you will be asked:

• How many years of experience do you have as a Civil Structural Designer supporting large heavy industrial plant construction projects?

• Do you live in the Newark, NJ area? If not, are you close enough to commute?

• Detail your experience specific experience designing & drafting foundations and structural steel components on large heavy industrial plant construction projects.

• Are you proficient with using Microstation CAD software? What is the latest version? When was the last time you used Microstation?

• What is your current hourly pay rate range?
