Immediate Need in Albuquerque New Mexico for Sr Packaging Design Engineer. Must have at minimum a BS in engineering or physical science and 5-10 years experience in package development. Knowledge of Power Device and/or Optical Device package designs, package material systems, package characterization methods (electrical, thermal, and optical), thermal management requirements and techniques, package manufacturing systems, and test systems is needed. Semiconductor package development experience for high power dissipation components is required. Responsibilities include designing, developing, prototyping, and qualifying semiconductor packages for terrestrial solar cells under concentrating optics. You will have to maintain and improve current products in the manufacture of terrestrial photovoltaic power systems. Experience in concentrating photovoltaic systems is a key plus.Tasks include development of package design requirements including requirements for performance, cost, manufacturability, reliability and schedule.You will be expected to work with all levels of system design and manufacturing to optimize the package configuration.
