Great opportunity for EO/IR (Electro-Optical / Infrared) Product Engineer to work a long term contract for a large defense Company. Located in southern NH, client is seeking candidate a Product Engineer responsible for supporting the assembly and test of complex EO/IR optical subsystems in production. As an integral member of the factory team, continuously work to ensure that delivered systems meet performance, quality and cost requirements. Work with production assembly and test personnel to identify and resolve systematic problems that impede the flow of product. Decrease total process time, analyze and modify product designs to achieve compliance at a lower cost & work with Process Engineering and Test Engineering to develop accurate test programs. This is a hardware oriented position requiring technical knowledge in the area of Lens design and analysis, optical tolerancing, optical coating, opto-mechanical design and component mounting techniques, optical component vendor support, system assembly, alignment and test techniques. Required Skills: BS Physics, Optical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field 8+ years of experience including hands on engineering in an electronics manufacturing environment. Familiarity with other engineering disciplines including mechanical, thermal, structural and their interaction with optical systems. Desired Skills: Knowledge of EO/IR threat warning systems and countermeasure techniques. EO/IR systems integration and test experience including integration with other sensors systems and platforms. Travel: 25% Must be able to travel on short notice to suppliers, both domestic and internationally. Communications: Excellent, Oral & Written communication, skills with knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Working familiarity with ISO 9001/ AS9100 quality systems
