Location: Kansas City, KS, USA
Client located near the Kansas City, MO area has a approximate 5 month contract opening (with potential for extension) for a Lead Electrical Engineer with fossil powered facilities experience.

This position will be responsible to work with the owners procurement and generating station personnel to help identify a preferred list of equipment suppliers. You will be required to develop a firm understanding of the existing Generating Station electrical equipment and systems to ensure that new AQC systems interface properly and to work with the owners engineer to develop and review single line drawings, electrical equipment lists, control system design, circuit / raceway / wiring / and connection designs, grounding, heat tracing, etc. Additionally you will support the development of contract bid packages, to field verify equipment as needed, and provide key reference information to Owners Engineer such as single line and schematic drawings, grounding, MCCs, etc and to perform additional assignments as requested.

Qualified candidates must have a BSEE degree from an ABET accredited program and approximately 7-10 years of relevant experience with 5 years dedicated to fossil power facilities. A demonstrated competency with power plant auxiliary power systems design including specification and installation design of LV and MV transformers, generators, and motors is needed. You must have a knowledge of NEC requirements. Any skills in the area of start-up and performance testing is a plus. A PE license is also a plus.

Rate listed is an approximation so all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

• Please share any experience demonstrating competency with power plant auxiliary power systems design including specification and installation design of LV and MV transformers, generators, and motors. Do you have a good knowledge of NEC requirements?

• What experience will show your ability to work as a Lead Electrical Engineer to develop a firm understanding of the existing Generating Station electrical equipment and systems to ensure that new AQC systems interface properly?

• Where do you currently live and why are you interested in a position located near the Kansas City, MO area?

• For immediate consideration please provide an all inclusive hourly pay rate you would require to consider this position.
