I&C Technician - Instrumentation/Electrical/Maintenance

Power generation company is looking for a Sr. Instrumentation & Controls Maintenance Technician with 5-10+ years of hands on maintenance experience with instrumentation and controls systems and equipment. Experience as an I&C Technician in a steam power plant environment equipped with high-pressured fossil fuel-fired boilers is preferred, but experience in any heavy industrial plant will be considered. You need experience inspecting, calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting & repairing mechanical hydraulic, electrical mechanical, & process control instrumentation equipment. You need a familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and distributive control systems (DCS). Specific experience with Bailey & Allen Bradley PLC's would be a big plus. You should have some experience with continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS), 480V Switchgear and motor control centers (MCC). You need some experience testing all types of combustion, furnace, burner, boiler, turbine, feedwater, water/wastewater treatment and environmental systems. You will be working the day shift (Mon-Fri 7:00AM - 3:30PM). During plant outages, 12hr shifts are scheduled for approximately 10 days per outage set (4 sets) with the possibility of night shift assignments. You should expect to work 10-12% OT every year, paid at time and a half. This position pays an hourly rate around 30-38/hr based on experience. Our client is looking for local candidates for this position, but is willing to help relocate the right candidate if you have specific experience in a power plant. Questions you will be asked:

• Detail your experience as an Instrument Technician, I&C Technician or I&E Technician at a power plant or similar heavy industrial plant. How many years of experience?

• Detail your experience inspecting, calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting & repairing mechanical hydraulic, electrical mechanical, & process control instrumentation equipment.

• Are you stronger in maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation or electrical systems?

• How much experience do you have with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and distributive control systems (DCS)? Do you have specific experience with Bailey or Allen Bradley PLCs?

• Are you local to New Jersey? This job is located just south of Newark, NJ. Are you willing to relocate to this area?
