Structural Engineer - Nuclear/Civil / Structural/Mods/Uprate

Well established engineering company has immediate need for a Civil - Structural Engineer with Previous Nuclear Power Generation Plant experience. Requires a BSCE and PE preferred but not required. Must have a minimum of 12 years experience with Nuclear Power Plant design and modification of structural steel supports, equipment foundations, concrete structures, and civil work within the facility. Must have a variety of experience in modifications for equipment replacement, uprate modifications, NRC requirements, etc. Experienced in the design of concrete foundations, structural steel, and/or plate steel. Proficient in the use of ACI, AISC-ASD, ASCE-7, and/or AWS Codes. Proficiency in GT Strudul is a plus. Specific experience in reading mechanical / civil design, component selection, and preparation of design change packages. Previous on-side power generating plant experience is desired. Knowledge of nuclear design bases and regulations is desired. Candidates must be able to obtain unescorted access clearance for a nuclear facility located in the U.S.Candidate must be self-starter, motivated, quick learner, and a good team player that can interface one on one with other design disciplines and personnel at operating power generation plants. Looking for an engineer that has been a hands-on facilitator in getting things done. Per diem may be considered.
Questions you will be asked:

• Describe your Civil - Structural Engineering experience with previous Nuclear Power Generation Plants. Do you have a PE? Active? What state? Explain.

• Describe your experience with Nuclear Power Plant design and modification of structural steel supports, equipment foundations, concrete structures, and civil work within the facility. Describe your experience in modifications for equipment replacement, uprate modifications, NRC requirements, etc

• Describe your experience in the design of concrete foundations, structural steel, and-or plate steel. Are your proficient in the use of ACI, AISC-ASD, ASCE-7, and-or AWS Codes. Are you proficient in GT Strudul? Describe your experience in reading mechanical - civil design, component selection, and preparation of design change packages.

• Describe your on-side power generating plant experience. Do you have knowledge of nuclear design bases and regulations? Explain. Are you a self-starter, motivated, quick learner, and a good team player that can interface one on one with other design disciplines and personnel at operating power generation plants? Explain.

• Are you able to obtain unescorted access clearance for a nuclear facility located in the U.S? When are you available? Where do you currently work? What are your salary requirements? Explain all.
