Procedure Writers - Transuranic Waste/Repack/Rework

Location: Richland, WA, USA
Immediate need for a Subject Matter Expert to research, develop,and write technical documentation to support repack and rework of Transuranic Waste in a Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP).

Responsibilities:

-> Research and develop acceptable knowledge documentation to support repack and rework of TRU Waste Containers
-> Interpret NDE (Nondestructive Evaluation) video and LDA (Linear Diode Array) scans to establish plan of action to remediate noncompliant packages
-> Use site databases to review and track waste containers; input and interpret data as necessary
-> Develop procedures and training bulletins
-> Write instructions for the repackaging of noncompliant TRU waste
-> Liaise with Central Characterization Project personnel in support of obtaining DOE-CBFO approval of Waste Stream Profile Forms
-> Contribute to streamlining the repack process

Requirements:

-> BS degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) Engineering, Science, Environmental Science
-> 10 - 15 years experience writing and documenting TRU procedures and processes for a DOE or other Nuclear facility
-> Thorough understanding of Waste Acceptance Criteria
-> Demonstrated experience with development and implementation of process improvements for TRU waste handling
-> Experience with Hanford's Integrated Data Management System (IDMS)
