Transmission Engineer - Transmission/Line/Design

Location: Portland, OR, USA
Client located in Southwest Oregon has a 6 to 12 month contract opening for a hands on Transmission Engineer with extensive knowledge of both civil and electrical aspects of transmission line design. Mob/Demob and per diem are available.

Responsibilities:

-> Generate cost effective designs for high voltage electrical transmission lines
-> Assist in obtaining permits such as DOT, zoning, easement, etc
-> Able to perform transmission line engineering work independently
-> Ability to work with the project team to create or modify all civil and structural design documents as needed
-> Train/mentor company engineers on the principles of transmission line design and construction

Requirements:

-> PLS-CADD experience desired
-> Bachelor degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
-> 5+ years of design experience
-> Extensive knowledge of transmission line engineering, design, upgrade and relocation, both civil and electrical aspects
-> Knowledge and understanding of transmission engineering, including routing issues, conductor selection, structure determination, plan and profile development, material takeoffs, etc
-> Knowledge and understanding of engineering standards including NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI and ANSI that apply to transmission design
-> Extensive knowledge of design documents and drawings necessary for a complete a project
-> PE in Civil or Electrical Engineering

• What experience will demonstrate to this client your ability to perform transmission line engineering, design, upgrade and relocation, both civil and electrical aspects to include routing issues, conductor selection, structure determination, etc ? How proficient are you with PLS-CADD?

• Briefly share what will show your knowledge of design documents and drawings necessary for a complete a project and your knowledge and understanding of engineering standards including NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI and ANSI that apply to transmission design.

• Where do you currently live? Why are you interested in a position located in Southwest Oregon?

• What is your current or most recent annual salary or rate of pay (break down base, bonus, etc.) and what is your desired hourly rate for this position?
