A municipal utility in eastern Iowa is seeking a Utilities Director to lead its electric, water, and telecommunications delivery services. This is an executive level position reporting to the General Manager of the Utility. The ideal candidate will have great leadership and mentoring skills, to develop future managers and directors. Relocation is available.

Responsibilities:

-> Use your experience in utility operations and management to lead the safe operation, maintenance, engineering, and construction of utility service delivery facilities and personnel
-> Develop and monitor operating, capital, and major expense budgets
-> Recruit, develop and retain management and senior professional staff, and groom them for future growth
-> Develop and implement business plans in line with overall utility strategic plans
-> Initiate and review studies to forecast product growth or service delivery needs

Requirements:

-> Bachelor degree Business, Engineering, or related field
-> Master degree desirable
-> Minimum 10 years public utility operations and administration experience with multiple disciplines, six years of which were in a managerial or executive capacity
-> Expertise in at least one utility area electric power, water, telecommunications with some exposure to other areas desired
-> Strong leadership skills and proven ability to mentor and groom managers and reports for future growth
