Scheduler - MS Project/Primavera/Construction

Contract to hire Immediate need (9/8/09 potential start) with a client located in the San Antonio, TX area for a Project Controls Engineer to provide scheduling support primarily related to renovation and new construction to the US Army Corp of Engineers. Local candidates only and must be able to interview and start immediately.

Responsibilities:

-> Scheduling support primarily related to the renovation and new construction
-> Analyzing schedule progress for accuracy and processing of payments
-> Analyzing the impacts of current construction efforts as it relates to the schedule for future construction

Requirements:

-> Must be able to obtain a CAC Card - (Common Access Card)
-> Knowledge of typical project controls software such as Primavera and MS Project
-> A clear understanding of and ability to work with Engineering drawings and specifications
-> Experience in evaluating In-place construction against a schedule of activities
-> 4-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or related field experience) preferred (can be waived with sufficient related work experience)
-> 5-10 years of related work experience involving typical project control activities in the federal construction environment

Questions you will be asked:

• How many years experience do you have working with project controls - scheduling? How recent is this experience? Any federal construction experience? Are you able to obtain a Common Access Card (required by most military bases for entry and exit)? Do you have a 4 year degree?

• What is your level of proficiency working with Primavera, MS Project or other typical project controls software? What will show your ability to evaluate in-place construction against a schedule of activities?

• Detail experience showing you have a clear understanding and ability to work with Engineering drawings and specifications.

• What will show your ability to analyze the impact of current construction efforts as it relates to the schedule for future construction?

• What is your current or most recent hourly rate of pay? What is your desired hourly rate of pay or annual salary?
