Tool Engineer - Tooling/Turbine/Fixture

Client that designs and manufactures technologically advanced products and systems for the power generation industry has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Tooling Engineer with 3-5+ years of experience in designing cutting tools, gauges and fixtures for large industrial steam and gas turbines and casings as well as assemblies. The ideal candidate will be someone that worked for a turbine OEM or a 3rd party manufacturing or service company that manufactures both rotating & stationary turbine components.

Responsibilities:

-> Collaborates with Manufacturing and Assembly Line Engineers to provide state of the art tooling, fixtures and gauges for the timely completion of production orders
-> Creates or provides drawings, specifications and required documentation in conjunction with Engineering, Production, Quality and Assembly to produce or procure tools, fixtures and gauges
-> Finds technical solutions to problems that occur during production, working closely with all affected departments
-> Seeks continuous improvements in the manufacturing process by constantly searching for process improvements and implementing them in a systematic way

Requirements:

-> Bachelor degree in Engineering (manufacturing or design) or a technical degree with four (4) years of experience designing specialty cutting tools, production fixtures and gauges
-> 3+ years of experience in designing cutting tools, gauges and fixtures for large industrial steam and gas turbines and casings as well as assemblies
-> Thorough knowledge of complex machining, welding and assembly processes of large steam and gas components
-> Clear knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings, standards and specifications, especially geometric tolerancing and dimensioning (GMT)
-> Training and knowledge in PDM, SAP/PowerMax and CAD is a PLUS

• Detail your experience designing cutting tools, gauges and fixtures for large industrial steam and gas turbines and casings as well as assemblies.

• Detail your level of understanding of engineering drawings, standards & specifications, especially geometric tolerancing & dimensioning (GMT).

• Do you have a BS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or a related area? If not, what degree?

• What is your current base salary & total compensation? What is your desired salary and total compensation?
