Procurement Specialist - Project/Procurement/Expediting 25-35 $/hr

IMMEDIATE NEED!!!.....Engineering & Construction client is looking to hire a Project Expeditor with 5+ years of related experience supporting engineered and complex fabricated equipment contracts for multiple Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) projects. You should have this experience supporting EPC projects in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Power Generation industry. This is ultimately a direct hire position, but you will start out on a contract basis and then transition to a direct employee after a few months. Our client prefers candidates local to the Anaheim, CA area, but will consider all candidates that meet the skill set.

Responsibilities:

-> Interface with internal project team members to understand the material and submittal contractual requirements of major engineered equipment suppliers
-> Proactively contact suppliers by phone and in person through shop visits to obtain submittals and verify progress as required by the project expediting plan
-> Assess and challenge data received
-> Formulate & execute appropriate corrective actions, when necessary, to ensure suppliers meet critical path contract milestones including schedule, quality & submittals
-> Develop and maintain material and submittal expediting reports
-> Analyze supplier progress reports to verify completeness and accuracy

Requirements:

-> An Associate's degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 5 years of experience in project procurement expediting
-> Experience in project expediting for large EPC projects in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Power Generation industry
-> Proficiency in material and submittal tracking and reporting software is a BIG PLUS
-> The ability to multi- task is necessary to be able to support multiple projects simultaneously
