Electrical Designer - Relay & Control/Substation/AutoCAD 40-60 K/yr

A leading Power Engineering firm in Austin, Texas needs a Substation Relay and Control Designer with excellent AutoCAD skills. The client is open to direct hire or long term contract. Relocation is available for an outstanding candidate.

Responsibilities:

-> Use your US-based electric utility experience in a design team to prepare and develop one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams for electric substation construction projects
-> Develop material lists for Relay, Control, Metering, and Substation projects
-> Direct the work of drafters and junior grade technicians as required so that project schedules are met
-> Provide a detailed design package that complies with substation engineering design standards and all safety codes

Requirements:

->
-> Associates Degree in Engineering Graphics or equivalent certification in CAD drafting
-> A minimum of 3 years experience working independently on electric utility related relay & control schematics, one lines, and wiring diagrams, including the application of transmission line relays, differential, and overcurrent schemes
-> Proficiency in control building and panel layouts and conduit and cable plans is highly desired
-> Design experience working with substation automation, SCADA, or IEC 61850 protocols a major plus
-> Excellent AutoCAD skills required
-> Microstation skills are a plus
