Location: Northridge, CA, USA
Medical Device Manufacturer has an immediate opening for Senior Mechanical Engineer in Northern Los Angeles California. This is a Contract Position.

Responsibilities:

-> Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
-> Determines manufacturing operation requirements and process parameters, Develops plans to evaluate process repeatability and stability, & Develops product and process improvements
-> Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Your solutions should be imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organizational objectives
-> Responsible for writing and implementing process validations and engineering reports
-> You will be required to function as a liaison between Product Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D and Suppliers. You will participate in continuous improvement projects

Requirements:

-> Must have undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 + years of hands on engineering experience in a medical device assembly manufacturing environment or equivalent experience
-> Must have Green Belt Certification with a strong background in statistics Experience in design for Six Sigma
-> Able to utilize 2D and 3D Solid Works or AutoCAD systems to perform detailed design analysis, including structural, thermal and finite element analysis
-> Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, clients, and customers
-> An understanding of geometric tolerancing when it comes to component and subassembly designs
-> Local Candidates ONLY. No Relocation

Questions you will be asked:

• Detail your experience in the medical device or biotechnology industry.

• List your education and any addition schooling or certifications that apply. When and Where did you obtain your Green Belt Certification? Do you speak a foreign language?

• Detail any experience you have in the design of experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Controls (SPC), and determining manufacturing operation requirements and process parameters, plus developing plans to evaluate process repeatability and stability, and develop product and process improvements of medical devices. FIVE PLUS YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

• How would you rate your writing and documentation skills? Explain how you did so on past assignments. PRESENTATION SKILLS PREFERRED

• Describe your experience with and ability to utilize 2D and 3D Solid Works or AutoCAD systems to perform detailed design analysis, including structural, thermal and finite element analysis methods. and an understanding of geometric tolerancing when it comes to component and subassembly designs.
