A well established Engineering Company located in the Chicago, IL area is looking for a Senior Supervising Instrument and Controls Engineer with industrial and/or heavy industry process controls design experience. Relocation assistance will be considered for highly qualified candidates. Salary listed is an approximation so all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

-> Overall responsibility for the technical oversight and staffing requirements for the Instrument and Controls engineering personnel
-> Will assist the Engineering Manager in HSE review and assessment of ongoing project activities
-> Develop standards and engineering process improvements
-> Incorporating Client standards and procedures in overall engineering process
-> Develop project work scope, budgets and schedules
-> Help train and develop lower grade engineers
-> Execute lead I&C engineer responsibilities on projects that include senior level engineering and design analysis for plant control systems
-> Lead the I&C engineering effort on multiple projects simultaneously including supervising, and managing staffing levels and project task allocations for the I&C personnel

Requirements:

-> PE License required
-> Minimum of 15 years experience, 5 in supervisory position, in engineering in industrial and/or heavy industry process controls design
-> Experience in the programming of PLCs and process controls
-> Senior level engineering and controls design for batch and continuous processes involving casting, extrusion, forming and rolling processes in heavy industry environment
-> Experience in Smart Plant Instrumentation preferred
-> Sound understanding of HAZOP, risk analysis, and project cost/scheduling
-> Strong oral/presentation skill and clear/concise report writing ability
-> Open to occasional travel or short-term out-of-town assignments

• How many total years experience do you have working as an Instrument and Controls Engineer with industrial and-or heavy industry process controls design? How many years in a supervisory role? Do you have your PE license and what state(s)? Plus: Do you have any foundry design experience? Please explain if yes.

• What experience will demonstrate to the client your ability to supervise an engineering team as a lead I&C engineer on projects that include engineering and controls design for batch and continuous processes involving casting, extrusion, forming and rolling processes in heavy industry environment?

• Do you have any experience in Smart Plant Instrumentation? Please explain if yes. Do you have a sound understanding of HAZOP, risk analysis, and project cost-scheduling? Please explain.

• Where do you currently live and why are you interested in a position located in the Chicago, IL area? Will you require relocation assistance?

• What is your current or most recent annual salary (please break down base, bonus, etc.) and what is your desired annual salary for this position?
