Immediate contract opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to work in the Northern Virginia area performing FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) on large diesel engines. This company offer a great opportunity and has a convenient location that is close to all; restaurants, shopping, etc.

Responsibilities:

-> Conduct root cause analysis to determine failure modes
-> Redesign of subsystems within the current design requirements to eliminate any failure
-> Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) on Team Platform and it's Subsystems
-> Maintain Failure Reporting, Analysis, Corrective, Action System (FRACAS) database and failure trending
-> Direct the creation, redesign, and management of PROE models for assigned design responsibilities
-> Works with PROE designers to generate models, perform design analysis or direct activities of the analysis group in support of Engine designs to include Auxiliary Power Unit, Primary Engine, Primary Engine Cooling, Primary Engine Exhaust and Primary Engine Fuel
-> Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts within design/product teams

Requirements:

-> B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with 3-9 years of related experience
-> Ability to conduct root cause analysis to determine engineering design failures and conduct redesign efforts
-> Must be motivated, energetic, take direction well, work independently and with others in a professional manner
-> Possess strong leadership, communications, planning, coordination and management capabilities
-> Perform occasional travel in support of remote vehicle testing and meet with subcontractors
-> Working familiarity with vehicle subsystems such as primary and auxiliary diesel powered engines, engine exhaust technologies, engine fuel systems and vehicle cooling
-> Experience with MS project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
-> US Citizenship is a must

• Do you mind overtime, working some off hours and occasional travel in support of product testing?

• How much experience do you have with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) ?

• Do you have any experience working with Pro-Engineer?

• Are you a US citizen?
