Location: Reston, VA, USA
Leading supplier of communications and specialized products and services to the government seeks Electrical Engineer for it's Security Solutions Group in Northern Virginia (Dulles toll road corridor). Also see JO # 79156.

Responsibilities:

-> Primary focus on Electrical and Electronic disciplines but with strong desire and ability to cross train with the structural and mechanical engineer members of our team to deliver a total system solution
-> Perform a variety of analyses and prepare appropriate documentation
-> Design and test electrical and electronic components, subsystems and systems comprised of COTS products
-> Analyze and modify existing designs to propose alternate solutions
-> Verify design calculations
-> Prepare and execute field test procedures at the job site
-> Prepare final test reports
-> Conduct analyses to determine engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness of system components
-> Evaluate system designs to identify deficiencies and performance issues
-> Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposal specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
-> Create drawings and written reports (i.e. tests results, analysis, proposals)

Requirements:

-> Must be capable of conducting technical work on projects in th office and at the field site
-> Must have 4 year BSEE degree
-> 3 to 7 years experience as an Electrical Engineer
-> Experience with electrical design in either AC/DC power distribution, energy storage, sensor, visualization, or communication network areas
-> Practical hands on field experience strongly preferred
-> Preferred to have experience with alternate energy generation (wind. solar) and stationary generator sets... but not required
-> Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) in Electrical Engineering
-> Ability to research and understand standards, recommended practices and apply to design (e.g. NEC, MIL, IEEE)
-> Must be U.S. Citizen
-> Must be willing to travel up to 50%
