Be part of the team that is building the plant that will move 2 million tons of materials and produce 4 million tons of cement a year.

Holcim (US) is building and commissioning the world’s largest single line kiln for their greenfield plant in the tight knit community of Bloomsdale, Missouri and has an immediate opening for an experienced Draftsperson.

We are looking for a talented drafter who would be responsible for creating and maintaining drawings and records of civil, structural, mechanical and electrical equipment in the Ste. Genevieve Plant. This role will also include:
• Maintaining and developing the existing project processes for cataloguing drawings, manuals and project records provided by OEMs, together with all new drawings created
• Create Mechanical/Electrical drawings for replacement components, tooling for troubleshooting or repairing plant equipment, modifying plant layout, capital projects etc.
• Perform engineering design calculations as required
• Recommend materials and supplies for purchase for manufactured equipment per specified drawings
• Assist in establishing partnerships with secondary manufacturing facilities and suppliers for development of replacement components and tools
• Asset in quality control and monitoring of secondary manufacturing facilities
• Professionally and effectively communicating with engineers, trades people, contractors vendors and members of the plant team
• Working with contractors and plant staff when required in conjunction with maintenance and project work
• Assisting with the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for capital engineering projects
• Maintaining drawings illustrating all of the plant underground and aboveground utilities

Bring your skills to the table:

The ideal candidate for this role will have good mechanical aptitude, ability to work and excel in a team based environment and have demonstrated drafting skills using AutoCAD. Experience developing mechanical and electrical drawings for replacement parts, tooling, plant equipment and process flow is essential In addition, the ability to draw using parametric drafting software and knowledge or experience in cement manufacturing or a similar heavy industry is an advantage. Excellent organizational skills and communication skills is a must. Formal training or qualification in mechanical engineering is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP is a plus.

About the Ste. Genevieve Greenfield Plant

The plant design is one of the most sophisticated in the cement industry today and incorporates the latest in cement production and environmental control technologies. The plant will be a single kiln line Portland cement manufacturing facility that includes a raw material processing system, coal mill system, product processing system, and material receiving and product shipping systems. It will generate 4 million metric tons of cement annually.
