Our client is a world-class organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia that has the responsibility for developing manufacturing clusters and attracting multinational and local companies to invest in these clusters. They are initially targeting the following 5 clusters: the automotive value chain, metals processing, consumer goods, packaging and construction material. The organization is searching for global executives to form their senior management team. The mission of the program is to grow and diversify the Saudi economy by developing these targeted industrial sectors.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Economist will be responsible for determining studies and reports required by the program and study and evaluate reports and studies prepared within management relating to economical, financial and local and international monetary developments. He will be responsible for conducting or commissioning miscellaneous research studies covering various industries / sectors in the Kingdom to examine the potential of establishing new clusters to support the national economy.
In addition, the Chief Economist will maintain economic research database and ensuring ways of improving it.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct national economic studies and sectoral surveys, in coordination with concerned entities to help generate new cluster ideas in accordance with the program strategic direction.
• Assist the Cluster Development Department in developing short and long term financial and economical plans.
• Identify competitiveness and ability of Saudi economic sectors through studying economic aspects and comparing them on international and regional levels.
• Follow up on financial, monetary and economical developments and collect necessary information and register it.
• Prepare research on various local and international topics.
• Prepare periodic reports relating to financial, monetary and economical situation and development.
• Provide economical and financial information services for researchers at the Cluster Development department.
• Organize resources and rules of electronic and conventional information to provide for researcher at the program.
• Familiarize self with other researchers needs from information services and work on providing them.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Ability to undertake focused primary and secondary economic research assignments.
• Ability to establish and maintain an updated database of economic trends and updates.
• Ability to formulate and execute short & long term economical strategies.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proficiency in the English language in oral and written form.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or equivalent (Masters Degree is preferred).
• A minimum of 6 years of practical related economical research and analysis experience and 3 years in supervisory role.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
