Department of Energy Prime Contractor is actively searching for an Operations Engineer to work a state of the art nuclear project near the South Carolina - Georgia border. The Operations Engineer will provide support to Engineering organizations on issues regarding plant operations. Review safety documentation, equipment specifications, system descriptions, P&IDs, etc. Act as the Operations representative in performing design reviews of complex plutonium processing equipment focusing on reliability, availability, maintainability and inspectability (RAMI), and capacity and throughput requirements for the equipment. Perform reviews of software and man-machine interfaces to provide clear and concise information to the end users. Support development of fuel product qualification programs and execution of programs during pre-production phases of plant startup testing, confirming acceptability of process parameters, procedures and quality of the fuel product. Develop operating, maintenance, inspection and response procedures for the manufacturing of mixed oxide fuel assemblies. Candidates need a BS in related field (engineering, chemistry, ceramics, etc) and 5+ years experience at an operating nuclear facility. Desired Qualifications (include desired certifications and/or desired education qualifications): Experience in nuclear fuel manufacturing or design. Experience in plutonium processing. Experience in Chemical processing. Experience in human factors engineering and highly automated manufacturing operations.
