Great contract, possible temp to hire opportunity with a full service engineering firm located NE outside the Los Angeles, CA area for a Junior to mid level Structural Engineer. This position will be responsible to perform analysis and design of nuclear facilities using structural dynamics and earthquake engineering. You will perform computations using the program STRUDL and work with designers providing design sketches. Knowledge (classroom) or experience in structural analysis, structural dynamics, foundation engineering, concrete and steel structures and finite element analysis is preferred. To be considered you should have experience with general purpose finite element structural programs (such as STRUDL) and a working familiarity with finite element structural programs, such as GTSTRUDL or SAP2000 also MathCAD or MathLab. Experience in the use of codes and standards especially earthquake engineering and the ability to apply a fundamental knowledge in the above applications is needed. A background in earthquake engineering using dynamic analysis is also desired. Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office is also needed. Per diem will be considered for eligible candidates. Pay range listed is an approximation so all eligible candidates are encouraged to apply.
