Protection Engineer - Manager/Protection & Control/Substation

Immediate interview: Well respected Mid-western energy company is seeking a Manager of Protection an Control Engineering with in the complex design of substation protection and control systems and overseeing operational and analytical studies. Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering AND Eight (8) years professional engineering experience in a utility environment, with at least two (2) years professional experience directly related to System Protection & Control Engineering. Requires five years experience as an engineer in System Protection and Control Engineering and functions as the principle engineering authority in the area of substation/transmission protection and control engineering for projects on a company wide basis. Registered Professional Engineer in Oklahoma or Arkansas is desired but will accept transferable P.E. Registration. Experience and knowledge of substation, transmission, distribution and system protection design criteria, of electric utility operating practices, and of budgeting/accounting process. Experience as a manager in hiring new employees within the disciplines, providing employee orientation, and employee support. Experience with coordinating project design activities and schedules with other departments and monitoring work progress to keep projects on schedule. Experience with review and approval process of completed designs for large, complex engineering projects. Supervisory experience should include performance metrics, coaching, mentoring and cultivating new skills in the development of staff members. Computer skills should include knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and SAP. Relocation is available.
