A sporting goods manufacturing company in southern California is looking for a Process / Manufacturing Engineer. Manage a team of engineers to get new products into production, including design, prototyping, material selection, tooling, and startup. Work with R&D and Marketing teams, material, tooling and manufacturing vendors, and negotiate with vendors and inventors in technology transfer issues. MUST have a BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering degree and 5 or more years composites industry experience. Aerospace or Sporting Goods experience is a major plus. MUST have experience with composite materials such as carbon fiber, epoxy resins, thermoplastic and thermoset materials, as well as composite processing (i.e., metals and composites: machining, casting, forging, stamping, molding, coating, surface treatment, etc.), finishing, and testing. Travel to Asia a few times per year to support overseas production. Excellent benefits are provided and relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience but at the request of the client the salary is not posted.
