A leading Vehicle Manufacturing company has an immediate opening for a contract designer in Southeast Wisconsin. An Associate's Degree in Mechanical Design and computer-aided drawing with 3-5 years related experience. Proficiency in CADAM and CATIA V5 experience is required. Mechanical skills inventory will be required to determine mechanical aptitude. Experience with manufacturing processes such as fabricating, machining, and casting desired along with electrical harness design and sound routing practices. Responsibilities - Prepare vehicle layouts and component part drawings with supporting calculations, i.e., weight, tolerancing, including GD&T, etc. Select parts and/or design components for cost and quality-conscious design. Follow project on the assembly floor or through prototype build when instructed by supervisor, and render assistance as necessary. Generate bills of material and assembly drawings as required by project. Consult with suppliers, customers, and members of Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Assembly, Service, Testing, Quality Control, and Marketing departments. Contract length is approximately two years. Salary is commensurate with educational background and experience.
