Substation Engineer - Substation/High Voltage/Design

A power and transmission engineering client in Concord, California is seeking a Substation Design Engineer. This is a full time position but the client prefers to hire temp-to-hire. This person will design transmission and distribution substation and switching, including writing specifications for equipment, and preparation of construction prints and bid documents. Requirements include a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5 years experience with High Voltage substation design (up to 500kv.) Candidates should have experience with detailed design of medium to high voltage substations (physical design as well as relay and control design), reviewing designs of others, and leading projects from conception thru construction.. PE registration in California is preferred but not essential. Must be proficient with Microsoft Project and Office, and proficiency with AutoCAD would be a plus.
