A leading competitive energy provider is seeking a degreed Civil Engineer to support civil engineering and mining activities at a lignite mining & power generation operation in central Texas. Candidate will monitor and ensure compliance of cost-plus lignite mining contract with focus on performance, reporting, fuel quality evaluation, economic analysis and mine operation safety and performance factors with a focus on large scale strip mining methods, removal of overburden, extraction of lignite, loading and hauling, and reclamation of mined lands. Candidate will provide technical support for the design and construction of storm water run off and containment facilities, mine and public roads, and utility relocations. Candidate will also support the plant operation by providing technical support to plant operations and maintenance groups in an area team on a twenty-four hour per day and seven day per week basis. Candidate will complete capital and expense projects which may include conceptual design, present in-house review of design, detailed engineering, equipment procurement, construction management, commission new equipment, staff training, and project close-out.
Monitor and report on plant performance, reliability, and efficiency. BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited University required.
