Excellent opportunity with a well established company who is experiencing growth in multiple locations ( Houston, Austin, and Dallas / Fort Worth, TX, Chicago, IL, Madison, WI, Hartford, CT, Raleigh, NC, Boston, MA and others ) for hands on Senior Supervising and Senior Project Engineers with extensive knowledge of substation design and engineering experience.

Client is looking for candidates with a strong knowledge and understanding of high voltage electrical substation components and their functions at 138kV and above as well as a strong knowledge and understanding of AC / DC fundamentals, three phase power systems, per-unit mathematics, and symmetrical components. An extensive knowledge and understanding of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI is needed. All position(s) will perform engineering duties as well as organize all activities required for the development and implementation of a high voltage electrical substation project(s) with the Supervisory position having the additional responsibility to manage multiple projects and teams.

A BS Degree in Engineering is required and a PE is strongly desired. Non PE candidates with very strong Substation Engineering experience will be considered. Out of town travel may be required for short periods of time as needed by projects and assignments. Relocation is available for eligible candidates. Client may consider working with candidates at their current location depending on where they are. Client is ready for an immediate hire.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and the client offers solid benefits. This position is eligible for the bonus program.
Questions you will be asked:

• How many total years experience do you have with substation design and engineering? How much of this was direct experience with high voltage (138kV and above) substations? Do you have your PE license? What state(s)? If applicable what will show your ability to supervise multiple substation design teams?

• Please detail experience that will show your abilities with detail design of outdoor electrical equipment, conduit and grounding drawings associated with medium voltage and high voltage equipment for utility clients.

• Describe experience show a strong background in protective relay coordination and the associated software (ETAP or SKM)? Do you have experience with CDEGS? Please explain if yes. What will show you have an extensive knowledge of NEC, NESC, ANSI, NEMA and IEEE as they pertain to medium and high voltage equipment? Do you have extensive knowledge and understanding of AC-DC fundamentals, three-phase power systems, and symmetrical components? Explain.

• Where do you currently live and of those listed what city(s) are you interested in (please list in order of preference)? Are you willing and able to travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments?

• What is your current or most recent annual salary (please break down base, bonus, etc.) and what is your desired annual salary for this position?
