A fully integrated steel producer is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to fill an open Engineering Project Manager position in Southern Illinois. The Project Manager conducts problem solving investigations that require a sound knowledge of engineering principles and project management practices in a multi disciplined environment.
Responsibilities will include formulating a detailed plan for the guidance and mentoring of existing department employees. Will interact with Operations and other staff to execute the scope of the project work that is requested. Will manage capital and cost projects, including: identification of the business case, initial planning, developing scope, determining benefits, estimating cost, preparing and submitting appropriations/cost authorizations, coordinating and managing contracted services, managing construction activities, commissioning and start up and cost controls. Will oversee the Project Delivery System into all capital projects as well as supervises and directs engineering suppliers, contractors, manufacturers and study teams. The right candidate must have a BSEE and a minimum of 5 years project management experience in heavy industrial manufacturing with experience in leading capital projects of $10mm or greater. Prior project management experience in the steel industry is desired.
