Great opportunity with a leading company in their industry located near the Toronto, Canada area for a Senior Estimator that has experience on Minerals and Metals projects.
This position will be responsible to assist in coordinating all estimating activities for the estimating department and for assigned projects on Minerals and Metals projects, involving furnaces, gas cleaning, and material handling components. You will be responsible to exercises a strong working knowledge of the client's home office services, field indirects, and craft labor using a background of diversified experience and familiarity with software packages (i.e. InControl, Quest, SmartPlant Materials, SmartPlant Foundations, PDS, Monte Carlo, AutoPlant, etc.). You must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, engineering drawings and specifications, worldwide construction work/costing, procurement matters/costing, and manage personnel and resources and perform quality control on executed estimates.
Qualified candidates should have a BA/BS degree in Construction Management, or an Engineering discipline, or equivalent knowledge of approximately 10 to 15 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience and competence in the use of typical software for estimating is required. Candidates should have experience on Minerals and Metals projects, involving furnaces, gas cleaning, and material handling components and experience in estimating capital projects involving engineering, procurement, construction management and construction in excess of $500 Million (total installed cost).
Canadian citizens preferred although client will consider U.S. citizens as well. A PE is a plus. Salary listed is in Canadian Dollars and is an approximation so all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Relocation assistance will be considered for eligible candidates.

• What specific experience will show your ability to work as a Senior Estimator on Minerals and Metals projects, involving furnaces, gas cleaning, and material handling components as well as experience in estimating capital projects involving engineering, procurement, construction management and construction in excess of $500 Million (total installed cost)?
• What experience will show you have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, engineering drawings and specifications, worldwide construction work-costing, procurement matters-costing, and manage personnel and resources and perform quality control on executed estimates?
• Detail any experience that will demonstrate competence in the use of typical software for estimating? What specific software packages are you proficient with?
• Where do you currently live and why are you interested in a position located in the Toronto, Canada area? What is your current or most recent salary (please list if American or Canadian and break down base, bonus, etc.) and what is your desired annual salary in Canadian dollars for this position?
