Project Manager - Engineer/Project /Steel 70-120 K/yr

A fully integrated steel producer is seeking Project Managers, to conduct problem-solving investigations, that require a sound knowledge of engineering principles and project management practices in a multi-disciplined environment.

Responsibilities will include: Formulating the detailed plan for the investigation under the guidance and mentoring of an existing department employee; Interacting with the operating and other staff personnel as appropriate to execute the scope of the project/work requested; Communicating the results, both orally and written to the appropriate personnel; Managing capital and cost projects, including identification of the business case, initial planning, developing scope, determining benefits, estimating cost, preparing and submitting appropriations/cost authorizations, coordinating and managing contracted services, managing construction activities, commissioning and start-up and cost control; Implementing Project Delivery System in the implementation of all capital projects; and Supervising and directing engineering suppliers, contractors, manufacturers and study teams.

Must have: Bachelors of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Construction Engineering; Minimum of 5 years project management experience in heavy industrial construction with special emphasis in the civil, electrical, and mechanical is required; Experience in either maintenance, rehabilitation and new construction, within steel mills, chemical plants, pharmaceutical plants, and refineries; Led capital projects ($10MM or greater, in scope); Experience supervising, and direct engineering suppliers, contractors, manufacturers and study teams. Knowledge of gated-process, is a plus. Steel manufacturing related experience preferred.

• Do you have five plus years of Construction Engineering experience - special emphasis in maintenance, rehabilitation and-or new construction? If so, please briefly detail.

• Do you have experience leading capital projects ($10MM or greater, in scope)? If so, please briefly detail size and scope of project.

• Do you have experience supervising, and direct engineering suppliers, contractors, manufacturers and study teams?

• Do you have experience with project development and controls? Are you familiar with a gated capital project development process?

• Are you proficiency with project management related computer software?
