Field Service Technician - Installation/Electrical/Mechanical

A client in the Denver area is seeking a Field Service Technician ( or Engineer ) to lead the installation, start-up, check-out, and troubleshooting of its activated carbon injection systems. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical), or an Associates degree in Engineering Technology, or military experience, along with 0 to 5 years experience. Applicable experience includes the electric power, chemical process, or utility industries, power plant construction experience and- or experience with an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction ( EPC ) firm or air pollution control systems OEM. Must have experience installing process equipment in industrial plants, and understand mechanical equipment such as blowers, actuators, feeders, and piping. Must also know PLC logic ( Allen-Bradley preferred ), operator interfaces, networks and communication platforms, and know how to read and understand engineering drawings including P&IDs, electrical schematics, fabrication and assembly drawings. Experience with motor control centers ( MCCs ) and troubleshooting electric motors and drives is a plus. Other pluses include knowledge of the National Electrical Code ( NEC ) and industrial wiring practices for low to medium voltage as well as analog distribution systems. This position will require over 60% travel, often for 2 or more weeks at a time. No relocation assistance will be offered so only local candidates or those willing to relocate at their own expense will be considered. This is a full time position but the client prefers to hire Temp-to-Perm. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience. Overtime pay may be available during installation of projects.
