Metallurgical Engineer - Metallurgist/Elastomer/Manufacturing 55-65 K/yr

A designer, manufacturer and distributor of emission control and ride control products and systems for the automotive industry is actively seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for a full time position in Northern, OH.

Responsibilities:

-> Provide metallurgical support to elastomer engineering and manufacturing groups for material selection, heat treat analysis, welding, casting and forging evaluation, durability return analysis, metal forming manufacturing processes and coating perform
-> Perform laboratory evaluations to appropriate testing
-> Assist manufacturing facilities and other engineering groups with process development and trouble shooting activities
-> Support problem determination and resolution with field durability returns
-> Maintain knowledge of environmental requirements relative to materials used in products and manufacturing processes
-> Support Global Supply Chain Management initiative to validate new sources and alternative material opportunities

Requirements:

-> Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent
-> 2+ years metallurgical experience working in an industrial setting
-> Knowledge of CAD and computer based engineering tools
-> Strong customer interface skills required (written, oral and presentation)
-> Ability to make effective presentations to a wide variety of audiences including senior mangers, customers and employee groups
-> Demonstrated ability to identify problems and opportunities, develop plans and successfully implement solutions
