Construction Manager - Construction/Heavy Industrial 95-105 K/yr

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER needed for heavy industrial construction for a solid well established firm in western Michigan. Excellent opportunity for long term career growth.

Responsibilities:

-> Oversee fossil power plant related upgrades and modifications
-> Manage contractors with a focus on quality, compliance with engineering drawings; applicable code and standards, and construction schedule and cost
-> Interface and coordinate with Engineering supporting construction activities
-> Prepare periodic management reports

Requirements:

-> BS Degree in Engineering, Construction, Construction Management, OR academic equivalent
-> 10 to 15 years experience in construction management related to heavy industrial projects
-> A PLUS to have power plant related construction experience
-> Must have the demonstrated leadership experience and skills to manage large or multiple construction projects
-> Need working knowledge of OSHA, applicable construction codes, standards, regulations and certification requirements such as National Electric Code, American Welding Society (AWS), Building Codes, etc., and familiarity with the construction and environmental permitting process
-> Need solid construction working knowledge of excavation, concrete foundations, structural steel erection, setting mechanical and electrical equipment, installing piping and pipe supports, installing instrumentation and controls, and system and component check-out and testing
-> A PLUS to have PMP Project Management Professional certification
-> A PLUS to have experience with union craft labor

• Please describe your Heavy Industrial Construction Management experience specifically noting the industry, types and dollar size of the projects, and, (a) AS A PLUS, note any solid construction experience specifically related to Power Plant construction especially fossil, capital project upgrades, or major retrofits, and (b) ALSO AS A PLUS, summarize any experience you may have with union craft labor.

• Please summarize your working knowledge of Excavation; Concrete Foundations, Structural Steel Erection, setting Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, installing Piping and Pipe Supports,and installing Instrumentation and Controls; and system and component Check-Out and Testing.

• Please characterize your working knowledge of OSHA; applicable construction codes, standards, regulations and certification requirements such as National Electric Code, American Welding Society (AWS), Building Codes, etc.; and familiarity with the construction and environmental permitting process.

• Please list your education and relevant training or certifications and, AS A PLUS, indicate if you have PMP Project Management Professional certification.
