A global manufacturer has an immediate opening for a Sr. Cost Accountant for a direct hire position in the Hampton Roads, VA area. This is a great opportunity to work with an industry leader!

Responsibilities:

-> Review daily cost of sales and shop job transactions for accuracy and resolution
-> Inventory valuation/capacity modeling
-> Departmental / absorption variance analysis
-> Research cost drivers and report
-> Prepare month end journal entries
-> Perform account analysis and month-end reconciliations
-> Lead in the establishment and updating of annual material standards and burden rates
-> Support the Internal Audit / External Audit process for both Financial and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

Requirements:

-> BS degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters and/or CPA a plus
-> Must have 7 years Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
-> Must have Sox (Sarbanes-Oxley) auditing/compliance experience
-> Experience with bill of materials and routings
-> Experience with standards cost theories and understanding principles of GAAP.
-> Knowledge of Oracle, BAAN and Hyperion would be helpful
