Description: Client located North outside the perimeter of Atlanta, GA has a contract opportunity for a Mechanical Designer / Drafter with strong SolidWorks and parametric skills. Client is looking for someone with recent SolidWorks experience, medical and surgical products experience, and/or relevant regulated industry experience. Local candidates or those willing to relocate at their own expense as there is no per diem or travel reimbursement for this position.

Responsibilities:

-> Will work with medical and surgical products drawings and migrate these mechanical drawings from other CAD packages into SolidWorks
-> Will focus on product support and change management activities and work with document control software
-> Will update mechanical drawings per ASME/ANSI and client internal standards and to design components and assemblies (typically with engineering direction)

Requirements:

-> Exceptional SolidWorks 2009 proficiency and 3D drawing experience
-> Experience in Medical Device and Surgical Product design strongly preferred, including Class 1 3, sterilized products
-> Experience working with medical and surgical product drawings and migrating these mechanical drawings from CAD packages to Solidworks
-> Experience in design/drafting of plastic injected components strongly preferred
-> Experience in collaborative environment and working with development partners
-> Experience working with medical and surgical product drawings and migrating technical drawings from legacy CAD applications to SolidWorks

• How many total years of experience do you have working with SolidWorks? How recent is this experience? Are you proficient in creating and working with 3D mechanical drawings? Do you have any experience working with AutoCAD? If yes, what version(s) are you current and proficient with?

• What experience can you share showing your ability to migrate mechanical - machine drawings from a various CAD packages into SolidWorks? Also, do you have any experience working with medical and surgical products drawings? Please explain if yes.

• Detail any experience you have working specifically with change support activities and document control across multiple product lines in a fast paced environment working with multiple priorities.

• Where do you currently live? Why are you interested in a position located North outside the perimeter of Atlanta? If not local are you able to relocate on your own and quickly can you be available?

• What is your current or most recent hourly rate of pay as a Drafter - Designer and what is your desired hourly rate of pay for this position?
