Electrical Design Engineer - Electrical/Heavy Industrial/Supervising 90-110 K/yr

A well established Engineering Company located in the Chicago, IL area is looking for a Senior Supervising Electrical Engineer with industrial and/or heavy industry structural design experience. Relocation assistance will be considered for highly qualified candidates. Salary listed is an approximation so all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

-> Overall responsibility for the technical oversight and staffing requirements for the project teams Electrical engineering personnel
-> Will assist the Engineering Manager in HSE review and assessment of ongoing project activities
-> Develop standards and engineering process improvements
-> Incorporating Client standards and procedures in overall engineering process
-> Develop project Structural work scope, budgets and schedules
-> Help train and develop lower grade engineers
-> Execute lead electrical engineer responsibilities on projects that include senior level engineering and design analysis for plant electrical systems
-> Lead the electrical engineering effort on multiple projects simultaneously including supervising, and managing staffing levels and project task allocations

Requirements:

-> PE License required
-> Minimum of 15 years experience, 5 in supervisory position, in engineering in industrial and/or heavy industry structure design (foundry design experience a plus)
-> Experience in the use of the following software: ETAP or SKM, WinIGS or CDEGS
-> Senior level engineering and design analysis for short circuit analysis, substations, large motors, 4160v power users, and heavy industry plant layout
-> Sound understanding of HAZOP, risk analysis, and project cost/scheduling
-> Strong oral/presentation skill and clear/concise report writing ability
-> Open to occasional travel or short-term out-of-town assignments

Questions you will be asked:

• How many total years experience do you have working as an Electrical Engineer in industrial and-or heavy industry structure design? How many years in a supervisory role? Do you have your PE license and what state(s)?

• What experience will demonstrate to the client your ability to supervise an engineering team as a lead electrical engineer on projects that include senior level engineering and design analysis for plant electrical systems? Plus: Do you have any foundry design experience? Please explain if yes.

• Detail your level of proficiency with ETAP or SKM? WinIGS or CDEGS? Detail your experience with short circuit analysis, substations, large motors, 4160v power users, and heavy industry plant layout. Do you have a sound understanding of HAZOP, risk analysis, and project cost-scheduling? Please explain.

• Where do you currently live and why are you interested in a position located in the Chicago, IL area? Will you require relocation assistance?

• What is your current or most recent annual salary (please break down base, bonus, etc.) and what is your desired annual salary for this position?
