Mining Engineer - Mining/Engineer/Proposals 75-90 K/yr

Texas based mining company has immediate need for a mining engineer to assist in the analysis and preparation of mine project bid proposals for new business and to provide engineering support to the operating mines as requested.

Responsibilities:

-> Develop mining methods and sequence mine volumetrics, along with dragline and truck / shovel stripping plans
-> Complete or provide assistance in analysis of equipment systems for new or existing mines, as well as in calculating production and costs for new or existing mining projects (i.e. labor, capital, & supply costs)
-> Prepare maps, cross-sections, or other graphics to supplement the preparation of project bid proposals, and calculate reserve and quality estimates using geologic models
-> Write reports using engineering results and analysis and prepare presentations and reports summarizing the details of project bid proposals
-> Assist in evaluation of equipment and in development of equipment specifications for new or existing projects
-> Provide engineering, computer, or technical assistance both to the office as directed by the Engineering Manager, as well as to the existing mines as requested

Requirements:

-> Minimum four year degree in Mining, Civil, or Geological Engineering, along with 5 to 10 years related work experience
-> A Master's degree in Mining, Civil, or Geological Engineering and / or related certifications may be considered for experience requirements
-> Knowledge of surface mining operations, including engineering road design, equipment operating and production characteristics and safety and environmental regulations
-> Strong knowledge of engineering principles, working knowledge of computer modeling and graphics software, as well as Windows XP, Microsoft Office, and spreadsheets
-> Ability to communicate engineering / technical related information effectively verbally and in writing, also to work independently and as team member to complete projects in a timely and professional manner
-> Knowledge of Vulcan and / or SurvCADD is a plus
