Principal Engineer - Mechanical/Government/Industrial Projects

Location: Sevierville, TN, USA
Our client is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer with Government or Industrial experience for a contract opportunity in Eastern, TN.

Responsibilities:

-> Conceptualize the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of limited scope
-> Act as Lead Engineer on single discipline projects or smaller multi-discipline projects, determine design approach and work with design team to prepare required design documents (drawings, specifications, calucations, etc.)
-> Manage personal task assignments and for designated projects the assignments of other design team members to ensure adherence to scope, schedule and budget
-> Supervise less experienced engineers or technical personnel is exercised on an assignment basis and is not an on-going substantial component at this level
-> Exercise judgement in the indepent evaluation selection, adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
-> Identify conflicting design or schedule requirements and generates Project Deviation Notices in a timely fashion
-> Perform calculations using engineering formulas, skills or application specific software
-> May make project level decisions on assigned projects
-> May work as an Assistant Project Engineer

Requirements:

-> A four-year technical degree in engineering is required
-> Strong ability to identify, analyze and solve the more difficult technical problems related to specialty area
-> Good interpersonal skills with build relationships, provide leadership and work effectively in a team environment
-> Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite and software used for specific technical applications within the department
-> Occasional (overnight) field trips to plant sites require ability to walk, climb stairs or ladders in an industrial environment
-> Willing to accept responsibility for technical adequacy of all output
-> Willing to adhere to employer and customer safety regulations
-> Professional registration is desired
-> ETAP experience is desired
