Apply Deadline: 11 Jan 2010 Location: Roanoke, VA, USA LONG TERM IMMEDIATE CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT: Large Virginia Company seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to assist in project cost control, project management, project accounting for large construction projects. Client requires proficiency with Excel.
Responsibilities:
-> Responsible for performing/directing project cost control functions for complex or large construction projects ($100M+)
-> Basic responsibilities include, but are not limited to, establishing project cost control setup, develop project forecasting, budget monitoring and project cost control functions
-> Responsibilities require interface with project managers, plant personnel, project accountants, and cost technicians, procurement/contracts personnel, schedulers and other related projects support groups
Requirements:
-> Requires a proficiency in Excel
-> Other desired Software Skills: Business Objects, MS Access, PeopleSoft
-> Experience with preparing periodic project cost control reports including expenditures to-date, project performance to-date and making recommendations as to forecasted cost projections while meeting critical deadlines
-> Must be able to identify, trend and analyze the cost status of project(s) Maintain project(s) Cost Portfolio
-> Must be able to prepare accurate cost reports and recommendations
-> Must be able to communicate and monitor cost control requirements with external parties such as vendor/suppliers, contractors and consultants
-> Power industry experience would be considered a plus but is not required

• Describe your experience with Excel. How many years using it for cost controls and analysis. Do you have a degree? What? How many years working with large construction projects? Explain.
• Describe your experience with budgets and cost controls, for engineering procurement and construction projects.
• Describe your experience with tracking project budgets, change controls, and cost commitments. Describe your experience in providing project expenditure costs, forecasts, and variance reports, developing project expenditure and staffing forecasts.
• Describe your experience interfacing with project scheduling, project accounting, project management, project engineering, shared services (procurement), and construction project administration.
