Our client is a large industrial operation serving customers in Eastern Canada and New England. It is currently seeking a committed and talented individual to manage its team of HES professionals.
Duties include:
Responsible for implementing Health, Environment and Safety Programming
Managing team of HES professionals.
Responsible for HES strategy, compliance, communication and support to the business line.
Directs the day-to-day activity for HES Resources to ensure delivery of base business and operating plan objectives.
Responsible for understanding the Operating Plan for the business and executing a supporting HES Strategic Operating Plan that focuses on the execution of critical HES processes including but not limited to incident management, HES training, compliance etc
Responsible for the design, development and improvement of best practice HES processes.
Responsible for developing consistency and alignment of all Operational HES practice and process.
Ensure HES team is aligned with the corporate governance protocols as they relate to HES practices.
Support the business lines in achieving HES targets
Provide guidance on proposes regulations
Identify areas of concern and non-compliance and work with the business lines to address them
Manage the environmental management system and safety management system
Requirements:
Post secondary education required
Formal Health & Safety education is an asset
Forman Environmental education is an asset
3-5 years operations experience
2 years in a leadership role
Proven track record managing HES Programs
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong decision making skills
Capability to lead change
